Target English International (formerly known as ATC International) is a British Council accredited company specialising in the provision of junior summer courses for students aged 11-18. Since 2009, we have welcomed over 17,000 junior students to our residential summer courses throughout the UK.

Our senior management team – James Hordon (Director) & Cath Lanyon (Sales & Operations Manager) – have a wealth of experience in junior summer schools with over 44 years’ experience in this specialist sector between them.

We want all of our students to leave us not only with great holiday memories that will last a lifetime but also the feeling that they have really achieved something during their stay. We apply the basic principle of quality and value for money to every aspect of our provision.

Our Language Course

Our Language Course

Our focus is on developing fluency skills and building student confidence in a friendly and stimulating environment. Our in-house syllabus is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and we can accommodate all levels from Beginners (A1) to Advanced (C2).

To enhance the language learning experience we include the Trinity College London Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE). Exam preparation is integrated into our syllabus and all students take the exam towards the end of their study holiday. In 2015 our students achieved a 98.5% pass rate.

Our language course includes:

  • Oral and written placement test to select class level and provide initial assessment for the Trinity GESE.
  • 15 hours of General English language tuition per week (20 lessons per week. Each lesson is 45 minutes).
  • Trinity College London Graded Exam in Spoken English (GESE).
  • Maximum 15 students per class.
  • Student placement and syllabuses based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • All learning materials, notebook and folder included.
  • End-of-course certificate awarded upon completion of the course.
  • For successful candidates the Trinity GESE certificate will be sent approximately 8 weeks after the course has finished.
  • Morning and afternoon teaching timetable operates in peak weeks. Students alternate weekly between morning classes and afternoon classes.
  • Class times usually 09:00-12:30 and 14:00-17:30. Exact times of classes may vary dependent on campus.
