The Russian Language Centre is headed up by Irina Penter – a highly qualified Rusian tutor, interpreter and translator with many years of experience. Irina started her career in Moscow over 25 years ago and was one of the co-founders, directors and a leading tutor of The SYSTEMA –3 – a leading foreign language business school in Moscow.

Having initialy graduated from one the most prestigious universities of Moscow with a degree in Economics Irina quickly realised that her talents lay in teaching languages and interpreting. Always aiming to offer a highly professional service Irina studied languages at the Moscow State Pedagogical University and Puskin State University of Russian Language and obtained another degree - in teaching Russian and English as foreign languages. Her degrees and qualifications formed a solid foundation for her future career.

During her career in Moscow Irina developed a number of highly effective teaching courses designed to accomodate different levels of language knowledge. Her courses can accommodate students who would like to learn Russian/English for leisure and tourism as well as specifically for business.

Irina also has a vast experience in translating and interpreting both for large corporations and banks and private individuals. After relocating to UK in 2000 Irina initially scaled down on the amount of teaching as family commitments took over. However her passion has always been in teaching and helping people in achieving their goals. So The Russian Language Centre was born.

Irina now offers Russian tuition, translation and interpreting services to individuals, business organisations and goverment bodies. Irina is a member of IFL; she is an oficial interpreter for Leicester City Council. She has been teaching Russian as a foreign language at a number of Leicetershire colleges for the past 10 years. Irina is also a leading teacher at the Russian Children's Club Matryoshka where she teaches children Russian language, culture and history.

Corporate Russian Language courses are tailor-made to suit the exact needs of your business. We take our time to research and design all course materials. These courses are personalised and completely flexible in terms of the focus of the course, its duration and scheduling. Courses can be focused on business presentations, listening skills, conducting meetings and negotiations and can also incorporate vocabulary specific to your line of business.

We can offer Intensive courses which are aimed at the participant speaking Russian as soon as possible with special emphasis on everyday situations and vocabulary.

At the Russian Language Centre we take our time to listen to you and assess your current level, understand your objectives and time constraints.

We use a unique methodology developed by a highly qualified tutor with many years of experience which enables us to tailor your Russian language course to your individual requirements so that you can achieve the best results in the shortest time. For example the course can be specifically focused on conversational Russian, with special emphasis on everyday situations and vocabulary, or business Russian; it can be intensive or taken over a period of time suitable to you.

Russia is the world’s largest country, one of the world’s largest economies and has a wealth of cultural and historical cities and monuments for tourists to explore. It is therefore no surprise that millions of people from all over the world visit Russia every year. Although many Russian people nowadays have some command of English (and some are very good!) if you are planning a trip to Russia or other countries where Russian is spoken it is advisable to be able speak at least some basic Russian language even if it is just to find your way around, buy food or call a doctor.

It is highly unlikely that you would be able to stop someone on a street of Moscow and ask for directions in English (and get an answer!) or that your order in a restaurant or a cafe will be understood! Russian is also a very interesting language to learn as it is very different from any European languages.
