About the Business
Having studied languages myself for many years, I understand the difficulties which learners have to overcome and how important it is for the teacher to motivate students by making the lessons relevant and interesting.
I have experience of teaching English to classes of mixed nationalities at different levels, and give private lessons on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. In addition to using resources from a variety of teaching books, I have developed my own materials such as word games and comprehension exercises using authentic texts. Having many years experience of working for financial institutions in the City of London, I also teach business and financial English.
The purpose of learning a language is to communicate, and so my lessons are focussed on helping students to talk to people they meet in their everyday lives and deal with essential reading material and correspondence.
As well as language, my students gain knowledge of English life, customs and history to add to their experience of visiting or living in the UK. Above all, I feel that learning English should be fun. I enjoy teaching, and I want my students to enjoy learning!

Do you have international employees who need to brush up their English? With many years' experience as a Business Analyst, I can teach them:
- Business correspondence (letters and emails).
- Report writing.
- Preparing and giving presentations (including use of Powerpoint).
- Conduct of business meetings, including writing agendas and minutes.
- Telephone etiquette.
- Socializing.
- Negotiating skills.
- Analysing statistics and graphs.
- Interview technique.
I can give lessons at your premises during the lunch break or in working hours.
My fee is £40 per hour, plus travelling expenses if you are more than 5 miles from West Byfleet.
Private Lessons
Are you fed up with classes where you have to follow a set programme rather than learn what you need for your daily life? I can tailor the lessons to your requirements, teach you the words and phrases which you will use every day, work on areas of grammar which you find difficult, and cover topics which you find interesting. You can either come to my home or I will come to you.
Prices:
- At my home: £30 per hour.
- At your home or office: £35 per hour.
